Zonta International London II: Club Information

London II is a lively and entertaining club with
a strong record of fundraising. Our 25 members meet in a central
London location on the second Wednesday of each month.
“It has been a personal growth experience
for me.” Sue Mansfield, Past President.
Our meetings provide an opportunity to meet like-minded, interesting
and progressive women, to further the status of women and to hear
an interesting speaker or participate in an interesting discussion.
Recent topics include:
· knot gardens
· the London Sustainability Exchange
· favourite poetry
The showpieces of our fundraising are parties at
prestigious London Locations such as the Bulgarian Embassy, last
party April 10th 2003. A glittering occasion with Bulgarian food
and wine, a Bulgarian orchestra and a raffle with prizes such as
a weekend in Venice, tickets for the opera and ballet, and bottles
of champagne.
“I’m able to give something back
– utilizing my knowledge and experience for the benefit of
the organization’s goals.” Catherine McEwan, Vice-President
London II members also pledge themselves to raise £100
every year. This has given rise to events such as:
· a guided walk round the City of London
· a visit to Brighton Pavilion, followed by a meal at a
member’s house
· a picnic in Kew Gardens
